The USPS 2024 calendar has been released and remains largely unchanged from 2023. To the delight of many mail marketers, the Tactile, Sensory, and Interactive Promotion continues into July 2024.
Here’s a refresher on what is included in this promotion:
Running from February 1st through July 31st, marketers can enjoy a 5% postal discount on approved mailings. From a mail strategy perspective, it’s an opportunity to take engagement to a new level by incorporating innovative techniques designed to stimulate the senses and leave a lasting impression.
This promotion rewards direct mail that incorporates textured papers and substrates or adding finishing techniques such as pop-ups, clean release cards, and even zip strips. You may also incorporate other sensory options such as inks, sound, scent, grit, etc. Adding sensory features encourages a longer interaction and works to drive higher response.
The USPS has provided a lot of flexibility with approvals in 2023 and we can expect the same for 2024. Please note, that after 2024, gloss stock will no longer be eligible for this promotion.
