The first USPS Promotion for 2023 is Tactile, Sensory, and Interactive and runs from February 1st through July 31st of 2023. The postal discount incentive for approved mailings has increased from 4% to 5%. For SPC clients with higher mail volumes, this could be huge savings.
This promotion has been around for years, and most features are the same as in previous years. In studying the treatments outlined by the USPS, our marketing and postal teams submitted clarifying questions before the registration period starts on January 9th to proactively confirm whether certain add-ons could qualify. These add-ons are used often by SPC clients, so we are very excited to share this news with you.
- AFFIXED CARDS:
“Clean release cards” qualify for the incentive, but we asked if any sort of affixed cards would qualify as well, and the USPS confirmed that they would. Understand we still need to submit physical copies of the final mailer for USPS approval during the registration period, but this is great news for many of you! - SCENTS ON THE OUTER ENVELOPE:
We confirmed that scents on the outside outer envelope are a new sensory technique that qualifies. We have seen the use of scents increase engagement with the mail piece and elevate the overall brand experience. This could be a great add-on to test if you have not considered it in the past.
