SPC’s new Vice President Strategic Accounts
SPC is excited to welcome Brian Gillespie as our new Vice President of Strategic Accounts! With nearly 35 years of experience in the direct mail industry, Brian brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. He has collaborated with SPC for almost a decade during his time at HH Global. In his new role at SPC, Brian will focus on driving our sales initiatives forward. His extensive experience, ambitious spirit, and winning mindset make him an ideal asset to SPC’s Sales Department. We took the opportunity to ask Brian a few questions to help us get to know him better.
Can you provide a brief overview of your career journey and what led you to join SPC?
I started my career in the printing business in 1989 with Dittler Brothers in Atlanta, GA, which was later acquired by World Color and then Quebecor. After 16 years, I joined the startup InnerWorkings in Chicago, and I’ve been part of the senior leadership team at InnerWorkings (now HH Global) for the past 10 years, leading the non-profit and consumer services sector. This sector grew from $25MM to $170MM in 2024. I’ve always admired SPC for its innovation and leadership, and I’m excited to support its growth.
What experience from your previous roles has prepared you for this position?
I think my strong experience in operations and business development helps foster confidence for clients. Also, supporting marketers across multiple industries, geographies, and offerings has provided a great deal of experience as a problem solver.
You have extensive experience working with non-profits. How has marketing in this category evolved over the years?
Fortunately, direct mail continues to be the primary fundraising in the offline channels. The U.S. donor base has held steady in the 65-85 age group which has a high trust level with direct mail. In terms of innovation, DRTV and CTV lead the way in a connected world.
What drives your professional motivation and how do you maintain inspiration in work?
I sincerely love breathing life into a great idea. Seeing a passionate team working together to help our clients grow is a fun, satisfying goal every day. I also take great pride and enjoyment in helping teammates succeed and grow in their career journeys.
Outside of work, what are your favorite hobbies?
First and foremost, spending time with my family. I’m an avid tennis player and outdoorsman. I love live music and am a novice guitar player and collector. I’m also a student pilot with plans to at least get an instrument rating in 2025.
