Welcome to the SPC Family, Tanya Silva!
Over the course of her 14 years of experience in Human Resources, Tanya has developed an impressive skillset from recruiting to benefits administration to health and safety and morale. Before SPC, Tanya had a similar role at KEHE in Romeoville. We are thrilled to bring her experience, positive energy, and new ideas to SPC.
We asked Tanya some questions to help you get to know her.
What piqued your interest in joining SPC?
The first thing that caught my eye and stuck with me is how SPC is family-oriented. I loved the team’s camaraderie and energy.
How did you get started in Human Resources?
I have been in Human Resources for over 14 years. My journey started in management and escalated to not just being there for the people but protecting the company against liability.
What are some strengths you bring to SPC?
My strengths are tactical planning, organizational structure along with change management. I love to learn as I listen to a lot of audible books on leadership and growth. I’m excited to bring these ideas and learnings to SPC. If we do not have change we will not have growth. My mission is to build great relationships between HR and employees.
What do you like most about being an HR leader?
I enjoy helping make a healthier work environment through relationship building, training, and reflection. I dedicate myself to walking in other shoes to understand how they need and want to be treated. Being able to see and understand different perspectives is vital.
What are some of your outside interests?
When I’m not working, you can most likely find me outside. I enjoy nature, roller skating, bike riding, and exploring new adventures.
What is the best piece of business advice you have ever received?
Be kind to yourself! Control what you can control and the rest you pray on.
