Welcome to SPCFuel, Brittany Collins!
Brittany comes to SPCFuel from the Bradford Exchange, where she was a key member of their marketing team. In her short time with us, she has shown herself to be a great collaborator with a can-do attitude. We asked Brittany six questions to help you get to know her.
What piqued your interest in joining SPCFuel?
BC: I was impressed with the team’s comradery. From my first interview, I could tell the environment was very supportive and welcoming. I was also impressed with the creative work SPCFuel has done. I wanted to be part of a talented team, where I can grow my creative side. I was happy to learn how much effort and time was put behind supporting employees and making them feel valued.
What are some strengths you bring to your new role?
BC: I have nearly four years of hands-on marketing experience, which includes working on new client acquisition marketing as well as product lifecycle management. My communication skills are my greatest strength. I enjoy connecting with people and collaborating with different teams.
What lead you to major in marketing at st. xavier university
BC: I have always enjoyed working with people and working with numbers. I thought Marketing would give me a little of both; and it has. I liked that Marketing is constantly changing and staying relevant to the times.
You had an accomplished career on the hardwood at St. Xavier for the Cougars. Are there things you learned as a student athlete that have helped you in your professional life?
BC: Being a student athlete helped with my time management skills. Having to juggle school work and basketball taught me how to stay organized and prioritize. It also taught me how to stay calm under stressful/pressure situations. As a former athlete, I naturally have a competitive side that makes me results-driven in the workplace. I’m excited to apply these skills here at SPCFuel.
What kind of projects are you looking forward to working on?
BC: This position is giving me the opportunity to grow creatively. I am looking forward to working with Beckie, Garrin, and Mike to expand my skills. I would love to be involved with projects that revamp brands and explore new formats for our clients. I’m excited by the prospect of working on projects where I can get in on the ground floor and see an idea go from a thought to a full-blown and fully-executed strategy. I’m excited to expand my experience in brand marketing as well.
Every Chicagoan has their favorite pizza place. We have to know, which is yours?
BC: Hands down, Lou Malnati’s. They have the best deep dish pizza.
Brittany has a bright future here at SPCFuel, where she will be integral in helping coordinate a variety of both internal and external marketing programs. Her versatility in orchestrating both print and digital campaigns make her a great fit.
